1. Overview & Service Description

Exam Scrambler ("we", "our", or "us") provides a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that allows users to upload custom PDF documents, dissect questions, organize topics into folders, and generate custom practice test papers. By creating an account or purchasing credits/subscriptions, you agree to these terms.

2. Academic Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

Exam Scrambler is an independent study tool. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) or any other official education board.

The service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis.
We do not guarantee specific academic outcomes, test results, or ATAR scores through the use of this software.
We are not responsible for formatting errors, dropped mathematical symbols, or extraction inaccuracies resulting from automated AI PDF processing. Users are encouraged to review extracted material prior to study.

3. User-Uploaded Content & Intellectual Property

Users retain full ownership of the PDF documents and content they upload to Exam Scrambler. By uploading content, you affirm that you have the right or permission to use and process the materials for personal educational or tutoring purposes.

4. Payments, Subscriptions, & Refunds

Billing: Credit card processing is securely handled through Stripe. By subscribing or purchasing credit packs, you authorize Stripe to charge your designated payment method.
Credit Packs: Purchased one-time credits never expire as long as your account remains active.
Cancellations: Subscriptions can be canceled at any time via the self-service Billing Portal inside the application. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
Refunds: Due to the instant delivery of AI parsing services and server compute costs, purchases are generally non-refundable unless required under Australian Consumer Law.

5. Privacy Policy & Data Handling

Your privacy is important to us. Here is how we handle your data:

Account Authentication: User authentication is managed securely by Clerk. We store your Clerk ID and primary email address to identify your account and associate your question bank.
Payment Data: We do not store credit card details or sensitive payment information on our servers. All financial transactions are managed by Stripe.
PDF Processing: Files uploaded to the PDF Dissector are transmitted securely via Google Gemini API solely for the purpose of extraction and formatting into your private question bank.
Data Analytics: We do not sell, rent, or trade user email addresses or private study materials to third-party advertisers.

6. Account Termination

Users may delete their account and associated folders/questions at any time directly from the account settings dropdown in the dashboard. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that abuse API rate limits or violate these terms.
